Welcome to the Hepatitis C Training Program

This training program covers foundational hepatitis C knowledge for healthcare staff working in Ontario provincial correctional institutions. This program will support you to:

  • improve your knowledge about hepatitis C transmission and prevention
  • deliver hepatitis C testing and counselling to patients
  • support hepatitis C treatment and linkage to community care providers

This program is designed for clinical staff, including physicians and nurses. Other healthcare staff and allied health professionals such as addiction counsellors, medical clerks, pharmacists and social workers will also benefit from this program.

The program consists of a pre-course quiz, four self-paced pre-recorded modules and a post-course quiz which you can complete on the Corrections Centre for Professional Advancement and Training (CCPAT) online system. Each module consists of a 20-minute video and a short reflection activity. You can access the modules at any time and complete them at your own pace. Modules can be completed on your own or as a group, although each individual should enroll separately on the CCPAT online system and complete their own pre- and post-course quiz.

Additional learning activities include a virtual group session and participation in a discussion board. Upon completing the modules, you will receive an email with information about the live virtual session and upcoming dates. Please contact your manager for approval to attend before signing up. The discussion board will be available through the CCPAT online system and provide a platform for you to ask questions.

After completing the online modules and quizzes, you will receive a certificate for completing the training program. Please refer back to this website and the discussion board whenever you need to, including the Additional Resources Page.
